There is so much to say about this special book and the writings of Dr Joel Batzofin. I had no intentions of climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro when I started reading and still do not intend to embark on such a life changing experience, however, this book has helped to change the direction of my personal life in so many ways.
I have known Dr Batzofin for over 20 years and he has been an inspirational figure in my life even though we worked together for only a little over a decade.
This book draws you into each and every character and I hope while you are reading it that it touches your soul in so many different aspects of not only the challenges in Africa but the beauty. I feel that you will want to personally meet each and every character and hug and shake their hands. The book is written so well that if you decide to take the challenge all you need to know is outlined in the end of the book. On a personal note, Teresa I always knew you were this amazing individual but I feel that I learned what it takes to fight through whatever life throws our way...thank you.
Tammy I have known you since you were just a young girl so happy to be with her dad and hope you always remain close with so many more future adventures. Congratulations on all your accomplishments.
If you have challenges in your life consider reading this book, and lastly thank you Dr Batzofin for sharing I personally hope there will be a second novel.
Having had the pleasure of traveling to South Africa on the said "fiftieth birthday" mentioned in the book, 'One Step At A Time", I was immediately transported back to the bush and its unbelievable wildlife and stunning landscape. Dr. Joel Batzofin takes great care to mention these details as he weaves in his intimate thoughts ranging from self-awareness to complete awe of our place as human beings in this Universe.
It has been quite some time since I have picked up a book and read it cover to cover, only stopping to sleep. It was a wonderful read: Fast paced, thought provoking and so descriptive, that I felt a part of the journey. It has inspired me in many ways, least of which, is to climb the actual mountain, yet, more to climb personal mountains through preparation and with enthusiasm.
Thank you for taking me to new heights.
Dr. Batzofin is not only a gifted doctor. He is a gifted storyteller to boot. In his book, he shares a personal and thoroughly entertaining story about his adventures while climbing Mt Kilimanjaro with his family and friends. His book reflects the author's honesty, good humor, and appreciation of life and nature. I highly recommend this inspiring book.
I dare you to put this book down once you've begun reading it! Dr. Joel Batzofin knows how to tell a story, and he brings the reader into his innermost thoughts and feelings as he takes on the challenge of climbing "Kili." We get to witness the spectacular sight of the mountain through his eyes, and taste and feel the adventure of a lifetime.
An autobiographical, philosophical and insightful account of how to get to summit the highest point in Africa.
And if one plans to never climb Kilimanjaro, this book reads like you are climbing it yourself.
What a nice way to do this special mountain!
I picked up 'One Step at a Time: A Climb Up Mount Kilimanjaro' yesterday and I can't put it down. It is insightful and inspirational! It can motivate any professional in any field to embrace the moment and to find appreciation in the process of life.
This is amazing read
After reading this book you will
Feel so inspired to live each day to the fullest and take one step at a time..
